Learning options

Four ways to prepare — mix them freely

  • E-Learning Academy
  • Live clinics
  • 1-to-1 tutorials
  • Revision library

Every candidate is starting from a different place: different sea time, different weaknesses, different months until the oral. The academy is built as modules you can combine — not a single rigid course.

Examiner-style prompt

“Your fog signal is sounding, radar shows a target fine on the port bow closing — walk me through your actions, in order.”

Included with every subscription

Twice-weekly live clinics

The oral is a spoken exam. Clinics are where answers stop being notes and start being speech — in front of a serving Master and a small group of peers.

Tuesdays & Thursdays

19:00 UK · recorded for every time zone

Scenario rehearsal

Examiner-style scenarios worked live — answer, get challenged, refine, repeat.

Small groups

Deliberately small sessions so every candidate speaks multiple times per clinic.

Drop-in format

No booking windows — attend whichever sessions your watch pattern allows.

Recorded always

Every clinic is recorded, so sea time never costs you a session.

Optional, bookable anytime

Orals prep one-to-one sessions

Some weaknesses need a tutor, not a module. One-to-one tutorials target exactly what is holding your answers back — or run as full mock orals with structured feedback.

Study eBooks

Full-colour revision texts per syllabus area, searchable and yours for the subscription.

Quiz banks

Hundreds of examiner-style questions with model answers and spaced repetition.

Notes & mind maps

Condensed one-page sheets per topic — the final-week revision layer.

Offline apps

Mobile apps that sync progress when connectivity returns.

The revision library

Everything else in the academy

The video modules are the spine, but the oral rewards breadth of retrieval. The library is the layer you dip into between modules and on the walk to the exam centre.

Library access is included in every subscription tier — there is no separate “materials” purchase anywhere in the academy.

Not sure which mix fits you?

Most candidates start with a subscription and add a mock oral four to six weeks before the exam. Tell us your date and we will sketch the plan.
